These nautical and New England images are captured to last a lifetime in these beautiful ornaments. Each is hand painted from the inside! from designs by Marsha York, a New England native artist.
Her images are meticulously reproduced "on the inside" of these hand-blown glass ornaments. By going through the small opening on top, each ornament is individually hand painted with a long curved brush.
This technique not only preserves the artwork from wear, but allows light to pass through it thus illuminating each colorful image. This form of artwork, known as Eglomise, has existed in China since 1802.
Each ornament comes in its own red, cloth covered box and measures approximately 3" wide x 3.5" high.
